Who we are looking for

Experienced A Level Maths teachers

Families come to us because our tutors are experienced teachers, so that is who we recruit. Whether you teach full time, part time or have recently left the classroom, tutoring with us fits around the rest of your week.

The whole A Level Maths course
You have taught pure, statistics and mechanics across Year 12 and Year 13, and you know how the exams are marked. Further Maths is a plus.
Real teaching experience
In a school, college or university. Qualified teacher status is welcome but not essential: what matters is time spent teaching.
Comfortable teaching online
A reliable connection, a webcam and a pen tablet or stylus. New to online teaching? Our user guide and our team will help you set up.
Ready for the usual checks
Based in the UK with the right to work here, and happy to go through identity and reference checks. Every new tutor also needs an enhanced DBS check, which we arrange for a one-off fee of £57, paid by you.

You set your rate

See what you would take home

Your hourly rate is yours to decide, and you can change it for new students whenever you wish. Our tutors currently charge from £48 an hour, and there is no upper limit.

Students we introduce: our commission is 20% by default, negotiable for highly experienced tutors, Further Maths and high volume.

Students you bring: already tutoring privately? Move them onto our classroom, schedule and payment system for 10% of your rate, with payment processing included. It is entirely optional.

Group classes: once you are established with us, you can apply to run small online group classes too. With several students in each lesson, experienced tutors can earn £100 or more an hour.

There is no joining fee or subscription: the only cost is a one-off £57 for your DBS check. Commission comes out of what the client pays, so you never have an invoice from us to settle.

You are self-employed, and that shapes everything

You tutor with us as a professional running your own practice. That is not small print: it is how we work together.

Your hours: You set your availability. There is no minimum, and one switch pauses new students whenever you need a break.
Your teaching: How you teach, in what order and by what method, is your professional judgement.
Your resources: Use our lesson boards and question bank, your own materials, or any mixture of the two.
Your other students: Keep private students entirely separate, or bring them onto our systems for 10%.

Questions teachers ask

Is there a minimum number of hours?

No. You decide how many hours to offer and when, and you can change that at any time.

Do I need to be self-employed?

Yes. You tutor with us as a self-employed professional, so you register with HMRC, file your own Self Assessment and pay your own tax and National Insurance. You are not our employee.

What equipment will I need?

A computer with a webcam, a reliable internet connection, and a pen tablet or tablet with a stylus so you can write maths on the whiteboard. Our classroom runs in the browser, with nothing to install.

How many students will I get?

Introductions depend on the enquiries we receive and how well they match your availability and experience, so we cannot promise a set number. We introduce a family only when we think the fit is right, and you always choose whether to take them on.

Do I need a DBS check?

Yes. Every new tutor needs an enhanced DBS check, even if you already hold one through your school. We arrange it through our own account and it costs a one-off £57, which you pay. It is the only cost of joining.

Do I need insurance?

We ask every tutor to hold professional indemnity insurance. It is inexpensive, typically around £5 to £10 a month.

Can I keep tutoring my own private students?

Yes. Students you find yourself are your own business, and nothing about tutoring with us changes that. If you would like to run them through our classroom and payment system as well, you can, for a fee of 10% of your rate with payment processing included.
