Steve began his teaching journey in September 2009 at an 11-18 comprehensive school. Holding a degree in Mathematics with Statistics, he amassed broad experience across the maths curriculum before choosing to focus on A Level Mathematics. He honed his skills further as Head of Key Stage 4, gaining invaluable experience in curriculum management.
Having left traditional classroom teaching, Steve now tutors full-time. With more than 14 years of experience in both teaching and tutoring, he is exceptionally well-versed in the intricacies of A Level Mathematics.

He was very clear with his explanations, always stating why it’s this and not that. With his help, I maintained my target grade which was what I needed for uni. My son worked with Steve after getting a disappointing result in his maths A level last year. Steve was kind and patient, as my son had had a real knock to his confidence, and he built him up again over the year. He rediscovered that love of math he used to have. After a year of working with Steve 1to1 for one hour per week, he just received his A level result and he has jumped by 3 grades, from a D to an A! He has secured a place in his first choice university. We are so pleased and very grateful to Steve - highly recommended!

Steve was an outstanding tutor throughout my Year 13 A-Level Maths journey. He has a real gift for breaking down difficult concepts into manageable topics, which made a huge difference to my confidence going into exams. He didn't just teach the theory; we worked through exam-style questions together so I knew exactly how to approach A-Level papers and, crucially, how to pick up marks on the higher-mark questions, which made a real difference to my overall grade.
We used the Miro board system, which worked really well and meant that Steve could follow my working in real time and immediately spot and correct any mistakes, which sped up my learning a lot.
Thanks to his teaching, I secured the A I needed and got into my first-choice university. I'd highly recommend Steve to anyone looking for a tutor who genuinely knows how to help students improve.
